The Story of The Anvil’s Creation

Near the beginning of Myth's belegarth journey, she would be sitting in a genetics lecture - when she had an idea. She had long since thought that is would be really funny if she had a giant war hammer but was unsure how to build it while keeping it safe. A hammer of the size she wanted would require a lot of foam, unless she got creative. It was during that lecture that she would accomplish her goal.

Right there in class, she would pull out a notebook and start to sketch out her plan - to create a giant war hammer with a hollow head. Myth's original idea had the right concept, but the cross-sections were not arranged in the right direction to provide the structural support needed. This original concept would be described as "defying the laws of physics" by Murtagh, and so the plan was tabled.

That is until Armageddon XXII in 2025, where Myth would seek advice from another foam-smith, Carson, who happily gave her a new plan for how to provide the support need to create such a monstrosity. Carson would even provide her with a sketch of how the cross-section would need to be arranged.

Myth would continue to tweak and gather supplies until the summer of 2026, when she finally knew exactly what needed to be done in order to bring her idea to life. And so over the course 3 weeks, she would begin to build. She would test build on her little brother before making a cover for it, wanting to insure there were no obvious issues to be fixed before hand. She would then test on her mom, Bunny, and then again on herself. Finding it to hit alright, the next day she would make the cover, finishing right in time for Monster Mash 2026.

At weapons check, Myth would wait in anticipation for The Anvil to be checked, waiting to see if it would pass. She would breath a sigh of relief when it passed the initial inspection and was moved to the next pile, the pile for hit check. The Anvil was picked up by the tester, it was swung at the checker's back, light...medium...hard, then the other side was tested...medium...hard. It passed for hit, then it would be tested for stab where it also passed. It was official, The Anvil was cleared for use on the field. Myth had succeeded in her goal.

A Word of Warning

The Anvil may be a very funny and very silly weapon, but it also one that has the potential to be seriously dangerous if not used correctly, if not used safely. Even when this project was in it's infancy, the first and most important question was always "How do I make this safe?", and this question was the entire reason that Myth went about inventing a new method in foam-smithing. To make a weapon that is this stupid, one must be very smart, and be even more smart to use it safely.

It is because of safety that Myth has multiple rules for The Anvil.

She is the only one who is permitted to use it
The Anvil is to be used with two hand when ever possible, and braced against the body by her bicep when not
It never to be swung at someone who is legged
It is never to swung down in anyway (unless it is something like a murder ball)
The Anvil must be completely under control the entire time, if the arms are getting tired, then The Anvil can no longer be used
Only aim from the mid-torso/elbow and below, don't even try to aim for the upper arm or shoulder

If you want to make your own big, silly, stupid hammer, it is highly advised that you follow the same rules as Myth does with The Anvil. It would also be a good to use the same build method as Myth did, because the reduction of weight is the largest contributing factor to making it safe, along with keeping it at either min-red length or below to decrease the amount of leverage contributing force to the swing. The purpose of The Anvil is to be stupid, silly, funny, and if someone if hurt by it, then it has failed in it's goal. This is not an effective weapon, so there is no reason to not follow these rules when using this style of weapon. So DO follow these rules, cause this sport is suppose to be fun, no point in being unnecessarily dangerous.
