*I don’t remember much about my family, I remember my clan’s horror at me and my mother fighting them off to protect me while my brother and I hid behind her. My brother was normal, with dark hair and black stripes and my mother led her small clan. They said that I’m a curse, a sign of hatred from [[Marjack]]. Some claimed I was a favorite of Ankha while the others said I put the clan in danger because I cannot blend into my surroundings. My mother never agreed that I’m a curse and never believed in religion or superstition, saying it makes us weak, but she couldn’t deny that I can’t hunt or hide well, so she cast me out, knowing I would die. I set out into the nearby woods not knowing how to hunt or track and completely alone.

I walked for what felt like years, sometimes running after a mouse or squirrel, failing every time to catch it until I heard noises up ahead. I saw these pink things, I think mom called them pinkies and that they are food. They saw me and decided that I’d be their “pet.” I think that means that they’d feed me, and they did. They set me down in their “house” next to a tiny pinky for me to eat! How kind! I quickly ate it and left to adventure, after all, we are nomads. I heard the pinkies scream, obviously in joy that I accepted their offering.
