Lowlands, Year One

The Lowlands Realm was originally founded as Gorewood by Sszariel, on December 31, 2005. Recruiting was hard for the isolated unit as there was much interest, however few people ever came out. On February 23, 2006 Sszariel and Chef attended Winter War, learning the fundamentals of Belegarth from Sir Freyson of the Southern Marches. From Winter War the members of the realm began to stockpile weapons in preparation for their next event, Beltaine XII. Gorewood did not have a large field presence; however, the unit did benefit from several one on one lessons and abundant advice from Izareth and the Horde. Despite all the knowledge gained, the small unit fell into a slump and lost all members due to a combination of inconsistency and key members leaving the locality.

On August 28, 2006, Sszariel decided to rebuild. He contacted an old friend of his from high school, Maude. They set the date for their first practice and began recruiting. The attendance grew in large increments every week and would eventually average at eighteen.

November 12, 2006 was a huge turning point in the realm's history. Gorewood would be surprised when a noob known as "Tank" wiped out the whole unit. Afterwards, donning Wolfguard colors, he introduced himself as IKE of Wolfpack. IKE would assist Gorewood in running its first local event against a Dagorhir group the very next weekend.

With advice from Ike, Sszariel realized it was time to focus on the realm instead of his individual unit. The Lowlands was no longer a word that accompanied "Gorewood" on the sign-in sheets, but a full fledged realm.

The Lowlands Realm at the end of it's first year, is now forty-eight members strong. The realm will also serve as Seminole Community College Medieval Combat Club starting spring semester. Nominations for the three realm officers were held December 9, 2006, with elections following on the 10th.

Lowlands, Present

As of February 27th 2007, Maude has been replaced as leader by Sqeege. Sqeege hopes to bring the realm out of the slump that it is currently in through massive propaganda and media saturation campaigns. Everyone loves Sqeege. EVERYONE.
