Sigurd has a way with names and lore and has come to know many more people than even more experienced fighters. Sigurd is always willing to learn how to better his combat and arsenal. He is a loyal warrior. Like any good Norseman, Sigurd ignores the cold. You may recognize him by his war paint - before battle Sigurd reddens his beard in preparation for the fight to come. Also, you may see his six-foot greatsword, Ithrund.

Sigurd first learned the sport of Bel in Tir Asleen. Originally he was entirely devoted to the red sword but eventually found love for sword and board (which he is much better at). He was elected Marshal (secretary) in the Spring of 2013. That fall, first [[Ursyne]] then [[Gorlock]] convinced Sigurd of his ogre-ness. Shortly after Gorlock offered a sponsorship into Horde. Finally after Spring Wars 2014 he accepted and completed his Prana'kai of Awakening at Oktoberfest 2014. His challenges included wrestling Ursyne and defeating the pair of Gorlock and Inanna. During that final fight Sigurd kicked Gorlock's boot and broke a toe. The same day he fought a exceptionally long day of heralded battles with Alachi to complete his Prana'kai of Blood. In the coming weeks he recruited Bones - a golbyn - as his feral.

It came that one winter a great storm blew a troll down from the Jotunheim mountains. The winter was so bad that many farms lost contact with the rest of the community. When the spring thawed they locals found that nearly a score of people had been eaten by a troll named Rjodbrand. Sigurd was chosen to track the beast and lead a band of Danish heroes to slay it. When they found Rjodbrand the troll struck down the Dane's leader and they fled. Only Sigurd and his old friend Visund stood against him. While Visund wrestled the troll to the ground Sigurd grabbed the troll's sword, Ithrund - the only weapon able to pierce the beast's hide - and stabbed him through, pinning him to the ground and killing him.

Sigurd hoped to join the war band of the Great Heathen Army which had warred in England since Ragnar Lodbrok's death some years earlier. It came that Sigurd was in Ubbe Ragnarsson's army when Ubbe fell and his raven banner was captured by the Saxons. Sigurd was ashamed that he had not fallen beside his chief and prayed to Odin for guidance. A stranger then appeared by the fire and gave him the furry hide of a wolf. He said, "Tomorrow is a Hunter's Moon. At nightfall you will transfrom into a wolf. Go into the Saxon's fort and you will retrieve the raven banner." Sigurd did as the stranger said and retrieved the banner and killed Ubbe's killer, Odda of Devon who was commander of the Saxon army. The next day a party of mounted warriors tracked him back to his camp where he and a few other Norsemen took refuge. There was a Christian priest with them who claimed Sigurd to be possessed by the devil and could transform into a wolf at will. Sigurd did not deny the priest. The armed party attacked but the Vikings were able to defeat them despite being outnumbered. Sigurd then drowned the priest in the nearby river. From then on Sigurd was known to be a Úlfhéðnar, or a warrior blessed by Odin to fight with the cunning ferocity of a wolf and who could transform into one at the will of Odin.

Sigurd despised the remaining Viking kings in England, all of which had abandoned the gods and turned to the White Christ. So he and his small band of warriors built a ship and began to sail and raid their way back to Norway.
