Background

Joos is a changeling, raised amongst humans, by humans. Upon discovering their changeling nature, the people they had surrounded themselves with were surprisingly accepting, although their family and many older acquaintances were less welcoming of their newly discovered nature. Now Joos is on a path of self-discovery, learning more about themselves, and their changeling heritage.

Currently, Joos calls the realm of Bryxton home, and has taken on the role of historian and lore-keeper for the growing realm.

The Atelier d'Historia

A short walk from the Bryxton barracks lies a large two-story building of black stone. The Atelier d'Historia serves as the library and hall of records for the realm, the headquarters of the Bryxton branch of the Chronicler's Guild, and Joos' home. Since taking up residence in Bryxton, Joos has headed a number of renovations to the pre-existing structure; the most extensive being the addition of living quarters onto the back of the library. The guttering candles and torches that once lit the Atelier have been replaced by hearthlight crystals, which luminesce when charged with magic, to reduce the risk of fire, and the floor is inlaid with intricate constellations and stellar iconography.

The Kargonian Archive

While searching through the documents in the Atelier d'Historia, Joos discovered records of an archive that may've survived the fall of Kargonia and led a small expedition to uncover what secrets it may hold. Upon reaching their destination, the party learned the archive was far older than the fallen realm, and guarded by enchanted suits of living armor. After dispatching the threat, Joos and their party found a treasure trove of tomes and scrolls contained within, including an arcane tome emblazoned with a skull.

The Archive itself seemed to share architectural markers of multiple races, including dwarven and naga; a curiosity meriting further investigation.

Necromantic Studies

After their initial visit to the Kargonian Archive, Joos began studying the spells and rituals contained within the arcane tome they'd discovered. The book contained a vast amount of knowledge on necromancy, the relationship between life and undeath, and the Void. Though much of the book is currently beyond their purview, Joos has begun unraveling its contents and dabbling in necromancy.
