Belegarth Peerage Agreement

The Belegarth Peerage Agreement is a formal pledge adopted by members of the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society (BMCS) who hold Peerage titles. The agreement aims to establish a national standard for accountability and ethical conduct among Peers and reinforces the values of service and community responsibility over status or title.

Commitments

By signing this agreement, a Peer voluntarily commits to the following conditions, which take effect if they are removed from BMCS membership by a formal vote of the Belegarth War Council.

Title Forfeiture: Relinquish Peerage status, titles and associated claims.
- "I, solemnly pledge, upon the vestments of my station and Peerage title, to willingly forfeit my claim as a Peer should my membership be revoked from the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society through the formal voting process of the Belegarth War Council. "
Title and Vestment Restrictions: Refrain from using Peerage titles or wearing related vestments to peerage within Belegarth or similar medieval combat communities (such as: The SCA, Amtgard, Dagorhir, etc.) after such removal.
- "Furthermore, I commit that if my membership is revoked from the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society, I will personally refrain from wearing any vestments or using a title associated with or connected to Belegarth Peerage within the Belegarth community or similar communities"
Public Declaration of Removal: Authorize the collective of signatory Peers to publicly announce their disassociation and revocation of Peerage status if expelled from the organization.
- "I acknowledge that in the event my Belegarth Membership is revoked, I willingly accept and authorize the collective of peers affiliated with the “Belegarth Peerage Agreement” to publicly declare the revocation of my title and association with Belegarth Peerage. "

Binding Nature

This agreement serves as both a public declaration and a binding personal promise by the undersigned to honor the terms of the Peerage standard, reinforcing a culture of integrity and community respect within Belegarth.
