Background

Karkus began fighting with Tir Asleen in the fall of 2011 and loved every minute of it, so much so he attended the local Halloween Event that year at TA under the name Stearling. Soon after however, his college requirements became too much to allow for extra-curricular activities, and he opted out of Bel for the next three years. Recently however he has taken back to the field, and now fights within the realm of the Frozen North

Lore

Karkus was born into a nameless and scattered ogre tribe that wandered the northern outskirts of the Blood Valley. The tribe was as an ancient group of nomads, claiming even to be as old as the first Garad, the forefathers of the ogres. However, the tribe was one of those who broke from the true Garad, believing that the Urungnar to be the cursed remains of Uron. To keep the Urungnar appeased, the shaman commanded that four ogre children from each generation must be sacrificed and sent into the wilds. Karkus was selected as the sacrifice to Uganggi. He was marked and left in the wilds to die.

Uganggi, who in truth was not an accursed son but rather the mighty god of fire, wolves, and warriors, took pity on the child and sent Tarn, his great wolf, to tend to the child. It was amongst Tarn’s pack that the child was reared until the time came that he could care of himself. Uganggi then commanded that Karkus be given over to the care of his brother Utenzi’s descendants in Clan Storm-Bringer in the realm of Tir Asleen. It was there that Karkus met other ogres for the first time, such as Sigurd Amundson and Shi’nok, and began to train with them to become a true champion of Uganggi.

Soon though the need to wander took hold in Karkus, and he left Tir Asleen to become a nomad in the Frozen North. Presently he stills walks the tundra, training with the likes of Mekoot Rowan and the Frozen King Ravioli McPastalot. All the while, Karkus waits patiently for a sign from Uganggi to be called again to the battlefield.
