Bat and Board

Bat and Board is an alliterative and increasingly popular style of wielding a bat in the main hand and shield in the off hand. This style is a descendent of the classic Sword and Board, identical except for the use of a bat instead of a sword. Primarily, this allows the fighter more shots at the expense of the ability to exploit smaller holes in an opponent's defense.

The use of a Class 2 bat in this style is even more rare than the use of a Class 2 sword in its predecessor. This is because bats, which are relatively padding-intensive, become heavier more quickly with length than swords, and even Class 2 swords are already unwieldy when used one-handed.
