Character

Agnarr is a warrior who emerged from the mists of the cold north, he was found as a baby by a hunter in the forest drenched in blood and wrapped in gray and black blankets on an unusually cold fall day. The hunter took him in and raised him as his own son and gave him the name Agnarr, meaning army or defender in the language of the Norsemen. Four years after being found the Hunter's village was attacked by a band of marauding trolls. The trolls bore the banner of Rivfader the Troll-King and layed waste to the entire village save Agnarr, who had been hidden by his adoptive father. When a party was sent from another town to investigate, Agnarr's cries were heard from the remains of his home and he was rescued and brought back to that town which lied 3 days to the south. This town was much larger and there Agnarr was taken in by a kind family of farmers. There he learned more about the outside world, and he then vowed that he would travel until he had seen it all. He left the town after spending nine years there, heading south, and continuing until he reached a great sea, stopping along the way in foreign lands that spoke unfamiliar, more delicate, languages. He followed the coast east until he reached a land where the sun was hot. He then found a caravan heading east and followed them until they were ambushed by bandits. He was taken prisoner by the bandits as he was still only a child and eventually he earned their trust. He then joined them as they traveled farther east, raiding more caravans of traders carrying gold, silks, and spices. Once again Agnarr found himself facing the Ocean, and learned of islands even further to the east. He bought passage to the island and stayed for a few weeks. He loved this new land as much as he did every other land he had traveled through on his journey, but he felt uncomfortable and finally realized what the problem was. His mind dwelt on the stories his adoptive family had told him of the village he was found in and the raids of the trolls. He realized that what he truly wanted was to return to the west and defend the people of those lands against those who would seek to destroy them. He returned to the village of his first adoptive father and searched the remains of what was once his home. He found the gray and black blankets that he had been found in but decided to leave the rest of the remains unmolested as the ruins had become a nest for a family squirrels. The squirrels seemed unfazed by his appearance, and their actions and motions fascinated Agnarr and earned his respect. Agnarr then traveled until he found a place to settle, somewhere that he could call home, and somewhere that needed his help defending against evil.

Agnarr bears a squirrel as his personal symbol, which has earned him the nicknames "Squirrel" or "Squirrel-Boy." He wears black and gray so that he will never forget who he is, where he comes from, and all those who helped him become who he is today.
