History of the Persona:

Freswinn the Guildhearted was born Freswinn Harphainne, in the nation of Ostairre. His parents, Malia and Proudsteed, lived a fairly humble life in their homeland, which at the time was still recovering from a significant drought which had damaged the nation's economy. It was that time of history in Ostairre when the king declared that all should learn to sew their own clothes and cultivate their own fields for their own food, to rely less on foreign imports and boost their economy. Because of this, as well as a military edict many years back that required all citizens be trained in horsemanship, Freswinn was raised from birth to be, for the most part, self-reliant.

He was also a very intelligent person, and this was not overlooked; he spent much time studying books from Turiu and Cadriche, two prominent nations to the north that had advanced technology and education, and granted himself a valuable mathematical and grammatical education. And as he matured, he began as well reading the works that came from Megistant, the nation which in most people's eyes was the most renowned for their philosophy.

His philosophical education is what seemed to steer him the most. With both the teachings of a Benedictian lifestyle and a Greek outlook, he became more and more intrigued by world events, and wished to place his hat in the ring in keeping the peace. When Farag the Darkhand entered his community on a diplomatic mission from the Correspondence, a large and centralized but not-nationally-affiliated group of diplomatic warriors, Freswinn sought him out. It was but days later that Freswinn would leave with them to begin his rigorous training with the Correspondence.

In his service for the Correspondence, since they value diplomacy and philosophy over outdated endearing terms of family and bloodline (not because of disrespect for the concept, but because of the interruption that it may bring in one's dealings with matters that relate to them), Freswinn surrendered his family name, as well as any ties to his own nationality. As he became more proficient in his abilities, both in combat and diplomacy, he was given his current title: Freswinn the Guildhearted.

Though still fairly young, one of the youngest to be bestowed a title in the Correspondence, Freswinn's work has quelled the needless bloodshed of at least twenty communities across the southern portion of the continent of Jusainne. He does not have a flawless record, and none in the Correspondence do, as there have been instances where he has had to draw blood or not succeeded in calming hostilities.

His recent assignments have taken him overseas, and his most recent has seen him accompanying a long-time friend who prior to this had only known him through written correspondence, her name being Katherine Espair, in soothing problems involving her brother -- primarily, to prevent an assassination attempt on him, as no one really seems to enjoy the fact that he's still breathing. He is stationed in the lake city of Esgaroth for this, working directly for the lordly Adjorn family to which Lady Katherine belongs; this has also seen him in close camaraderie with Olos, her significant other. His time here has also seen him in direct and mostly friendly contact with the other citizens of Esgaroth -- Salohcin, Talus, Gareth the Red, Staven, Karech and Quigmyre Graye, among others -- as well as the Fianna and Black Company.
