Salohcin, known simply as "Sal" to his comrades, began his career as a house mage to Lord Adjorn. His original assignment was to act as adjutant to the lord's eldest daughter, Katherine Espair. In time, however, Salohcin and Katherine became good friends, and often accompanies her when she joined the Black Company in battle. These excursions would lead to the Black Company sending Olos to help train Esgaroth's militia at Katherine's behest, though it took Sal a few weeks to work out the other reason Olos took up residence in Esgaroth.

Eventually Salohcin became an Auxiliary member of the Black Company, solidifying the Black Company's presence as the backbone of Esgaroth's defenses. He is currently the Steward of Esgaroth, serving as advisor and seneschal to Lady Katherine. He is often seen with other Esgaroth Black Company, such as Talus, Freswinn, and most recently Azgarehta.
