I recently attended Battle for the Ring in San Bernardino, California. I have to say Andor was the most disciplined realm and had the best fighters out there. We had great teamwork, were winning everything until our fighters joined their respective units for Unit Battles, leaving Outis and Winter to babysit the nubes - myself included.

My position was as an archer. However it sucked having only one arrow with which to shoot. I'll have to work on making more of my own arrows. Something I learned from attending Battle for the Ring is that it is not a bad idea to stick close to the shield wall. A bad idea is shooting an arrow clear across the field, only to hit nothing (and have to go retrieve my one and only arrow.) At least I can run, not a bad skill to have.

Another skill that came in handy was my training as a Boy Scout. The main advantage was being among the few who actually knew how to camp. By the end of the event, I was packing up quite a few tents for everyone.

The food was awesome! "God Bless the Kitchen Staff!!" I look forward to many more gatherings.

Spring Break has arrived and I hope to finally have the time to begin building my own weapons. I'd love to build my own glaive and great sword. I plan on making a run to the Big Lots gardening center to purchase several fiberglass cores. Combined with the other material I've already purchased, glue, foam padding, exercise mats, I hope to finally have the time to make the weapons I've wanted for the last two years.

I most look forward to building a Crossbow. I hope to use a rubber band gun frame and its parts. I'll combine it with a shortbow I recently bought at Big 5. My hope is to make a crossbow for 30-33 lbs at full drop.
