Mundane refers to anything in the "modern" world as opposed to the world of re-enactment, living history, SCA, LARP, etc. The word often can be used in a negative connotation especially when referring to people who do not particpate in any form of our hobby.
Forms
Mundane, adjective: Referring to the real world. "I'm going to change into my mundane clothes."
Mundanes, plural noun: People outside of our hobby. "Did you see all the mundanes staring at us at the restaurant."
Freaking the mundanes, colloquial phrase: Doing any normal activities such as going to a restaurant or shopping while wearing garb. "I really enjoy freaking the mundanes when I go to the grocery store."
