The Myth
Raised in Scotland, 17 miles south of Edinburgh, Lachlan and his twin brother Liam were brought up as warriors by their father, whose father before him served under William Wallace at the battle of Stirling Bridge, and went on to take part in the battle of Bannockburn. From a young age, Lachlan and Liam were given instruction in multiple weapons disciplines, basic battle tactics, and had engendered into them a fierce love of their Scottish homeland. When Lachlan reached the age of 18, he and his brother left their ancestral home to prove themselves and seek their fortune as free men. Liam soon fell in love with and married a beautiful young girl, only to discover within months that she was unfaithful. Catching her and her lover in flagrante delicto, he flew into a rage and slew the man, a Moor, in cold blood with his dagger. The girl reported him to the authorities, and he was arrested, sentenced to a life of hard labor. Lachlan, with a promise to free his brother, set out to find a way to do so. During his travels, he came across the warriors of The Crimson Fields. Recognizing them as warriors who would be valuable allies, he began to train with them. Within a few weeks of fighting, he began to draw in men to fight next to him in the battles to come, adopting them, as was his right, into the Clan McClung, and making them his literal brothers, as well as his brothers-in-arms. He awaits the day when he becomes powerful enough to free his brother from his imprisonment.
