The Awakening: Darkness, all encompassing and nothing more. But from an unseen place a voice was heard, one word over and over again: “Void”. Slowly the other senses came to them, the scent of fallen leaves and rain, then the feeling of touch, the cool earth under their fingers, and finally sight. Though it is lost as to how long it took them to gain these senses. The first sight of the forest was beautiful even in the night, thought the construct. High above them the stars hung like hundreds of pin pricks of light and the moon stood above all, shining down on the construct who was slowly inspecting itself and the area around it. Its hands of vines wrapped around what appeared to be bones and branches for arms, down to its chest made of nothing but wood and plant matter, its legs made of vines and other forest refuse. When it realized it could not see its face and slowly reached up to find the skull of a deer and its antlers too standing proud and in the center of its forehead a mark carved. With a sigh of contentness it stood slowly, unsure of what to do, it set off through the woods to find….anything.
Along the way the word bounced in its head over and over, unknowing at the time of its meaning,but claiming the word for itself as a name, Void. The construct roamed under the light of the moon wanting nothing but answers….
