This is primarily a historical entry.  In 2012 Tacompton was renamed [[Alera]].  The realm is still sometimes referred to as Tacompton, especially by older fighters in the region.  (Plus it's a cool name.)

The city of Angbad was once a prosperous merchant village in the remote countryside, it was founded by the warrior merchant Hannibal.  During the first years of existance Hannibal lead the Realm of Angbad wisely and the ranks of warriors grew.  The Realm became famous among the local news cryers and many honed their skills at their weekly battles.  After a time Hannibal new the glory of his warriors should be spread further across the land.  He then embarked on a great crusade to bring boffer combat to distant tribes.  Hannibal can now be found running battles at many traveling tournaments and faires.  You can see pictures of Hannibal's exploits at http://www.thegamematrix.com/bofferparty.html and learn how can join Hannibal in battle and test your metal against this veteran warrior.

Sadly, as Hannibal left the realm of Angband, the fire seemed to dim from this realm.  Some of Hannibal's own most trusted captains turned against him in the most cowardly of ways, hiding in the shadows of a mysterious web and lacking the courage to face him with their petty greevances.  Hannibal also discovered that one of these captains was so treacherous as to be stealing from Hannibal in his own house.

Alas, the new leaders of Angband decided in their wisdom that the realm should have a new name.  They said, "Angbad shall be no more. Its name does not fit with who we are. Tacompton our name shall be, and Castle Chumpenstien shall reign over it, until you the people see fit to crown new leaders."  If they only could have chosen a name that was not ridiculous maybe more warriors would flock to their fields.

And so Aleksii Von Chumpenstien came into power, with his associate Dr. Kanon D. Chumpenstien PhD as his scribe as well as the royal vizier, Neek the Sneak as advisor on crime and knavery. Tor the Berzerk Crusader as the official on all things holy, and Rauko the grizzled veteran from the North to assist in various capacities of maintaining a city. So have they reigned for years. Holding elections every year to show that Tacompton shall never be a monarchy or be ruled by a despot.

In recent years the Great Civil Uprising has taken its toll upon Tacompton. There are those believe that Aleksii let power go to his head and that they were truly under a despot. Yet there were also those who believed that he was a benevolent ,if a bit too reckless, ruler. No blood was shed, but fighting did occur and more than a few people decided that the time to leave Tacompton had arisen. The OG's (as the council of advisors was now known as) wished those who left the best of luck and that hopefully they would find what it was they were looking for.

Having discovered various lands in thier travels and wishing to garner a friendship with the neighboring countries Kanon took up the mantle of Ambassador and moved to the Babylonian outpost of Cronus.<br/>
