| − | Shintaro is a wanderer hailing from a secluded region of Japan known as the Nansei Islands, or Ryukyu to Westerners. It is a chain of small islands to the north of Japan extending into the East China Sea. Being of a mixed European-Japanese descent, Shintaro often felt resented and was rather aloof to his peers. Ryukyu was a tough place to grow up, so Shintaro made sure he was one of the toughest. He left islands at the age of 17, his parents choosing to settle in Edo. Rumors of a sacred battleground named [[Latnemir]] drove him West. He had heard legends it was a place of immortality, a field where the Gods would continually raise the fallen.
