History: Hendell Stoneshield had left the realm of Shannara in late 2009 he was planning on retiring because of the sudden lack of direction. Hendell was used to hard fighting and working to make a realm grow. Without that he felt his time in fighting was over. Hendell was surprised in late 2010 when his long time friend Sir Par called him and convinced him to stay in the sport. Sir Par reminded Hendell that it was possible that there was others like him willing to fight but with no realm to call home. Shadowdale was then forged in early 2011 by Hendell Stoneshield, Katsu Baka, and Millian. Each member had at one point been a member of Shannara but no longer claimed them when fighting. Each founder had their own reasons for leaving the realm that they fought and worked so hard for in the past.

The founders decided that Shadowdale would be about fighting and nothing more. They all had realized that the experience of fighting became dulled down by the politics, titles, and egos that are caused by multiple people running a realm that do not share a common goal. They had decided at that point that one person would worry about all of the politics and grunt work involved in a realm could be managed by one person and not be done at a practice. This would give the ability to simplely run a practice from start to finish without having to stop and worry about decisions for the realm.
