A Poof Football, also commonly (incorrectly) called a Nerf Football is a Poof brand foam football, commonly sold at Wal*Mart for ~$2-3. They are very firm, and are usually two bright colors.
The foam in a Nerf football is a very dense, relatively heavy white open cell foam which can be used in stabbing tips, particularly for polearms, such as glaives and spears.
Nerf footballs come in two sizes, small and large. A single small nerf football can be used for a small-profile spear-tip, while a large Nerf football can either be used for multiple stabbing tips (2-3, particularly well suited for glaives)or alone as a deep, large-profile spear tip. The small Nerf footballs are poorly suited for use on a glaive tip without looking quite strange.
