Overview
Manoa Medieval Combat Club (Manoa MCC) is a medieval combat sport. As such, we use a rule system which is adaptable to a wide variety of fighting styles (be they cultural, martial art, or free-style).
As a member of Belegarth Medieval Combat Society, we use the Book of War for our rules and weapons, with only minor modifications. Don't worry if you're a hands on learner; we are more than happy to go over the rules during practice. No experience is necessary. While it is helpful to have some sort of prior sports experience, it is absolutely not required. This sport is great exercise, and you'll find that all sorts of prior life experience translates over into fighting.
Equipment will be provided free of charge until you decide the sport is for you, and there is no participation fee. If you decide to stay with the sport, it is highly encouraged to eventually build your own equipment (as a bonus it will then be customized to your own specifications). You will not be on your own in this however: experienced members will be more than willing to provide any help that you need when building your equipment, and tutorials are available on this website, under "How to Build."
Based in the Manoa Valley (in the city of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu), Manoa MCC is located on the campus of the University of Hawaii. As a RIO (Registered Independent Organization), Manoa MCC is officially recognized by the University and allowed to operate, but is officially independent from the school.

Until futher notice, practice will be held on Fridays @ 2:30pm in Hemenway 208.
If you would like to try your hand at building weapons, please look here first: Category:How to build. While they are only guidelines, I really hate to see people waste time and effort on a weapon they can't use (at least at practice).
We are a free club. However donations are always welcome; the weapons are personally provided, so every little bit helps. OR, if you could like to purchase a professionally made weapon, or supplies to build your own, talk to an established member, and we'll help you get hooked up.
We are also a very flexible club. Our game supports a pretty diverse range of fighting styles. Additionally, if members would like to arrange additional practices, or just spar in their off time, arrangements can be made.
