Raised in Scotland, 17 miles south of Edinburgh, Lachlan and his twin brother Liam were brought up as warriors by their father, whose father before him served under William Wallace at the defeat of Stirling Bridge, and went on to take part in the battle of Bannockburn. From a young age, Lachlan and Liam were given instruction in multiple weapons disciplines, basic battle tactics, and had engendered into them a fierce love of their Scottish homeland. When Lachlan reached the age of 18, he and his brother left their ancestral home to prove themselves and seek their fortune as free men. Liam soon fell in love with and married a beautiful young girl, only to discover within months that she was unfaithful. Catching her and her lover ''in flagrante delicto'', he flew into a rage and slew the man, a Moor, in cold blood with his dagger. The girl reported him to the authorities, and he was arrested, sentenced to a life of hard labor. Lachlan, with a promise to free his brother, set out to find a way to do so. During his travels, he came across the warriors of [[The Crimson Fields]]. Recognizing them as warriors who would be valuable allies, he began to train with them. Within a few weeks of fighting, he began to draw in men to fight next to him in the battles to come, adopting them, as was his right, into the [[Clan McClung]], and making them his literal brothers, as well as his brothers-in-arms. His greatest wish is to become a great enough warrior to one day free his brother from his imprisonment.

[edit] The Myth

Raised about 17 miles south of Edinburgh, Lachlan and his brother Liam were raised as warriors by their father, Morgan, whose father was William McClung, who had fought alongside William Wallace at the battle of Stirling Bridge, and went on to take part in the battle of Bannockburn. Lachlan and his brother were instructed by their father in several weapons disciplines and basic battle strategy. As they grew, they developed a fervent love for their homeland, and a lust for life that led them to be considered serious troublemakers in their early years. When the brothers reached the age of 18, they set forth from their father's house, to seek their fortune in the wider world. As young men will do, they soon turned to fighting, womanizing, and general mischief to keep themselves occupied. They found themselves in multiple occupations, including a summer spent working as mercenaries, petty thieves, and a grand total of 3 weeks in various jails. There were very few people in the surrounding counties who had not at least heard stories of the Brothers McClung. They continued in this manner for almost a year, before Liam met, of all people, a Native American woman named Mosi. Intrigued by her exotic looks and shy demeanor, Liam began to court her immediately, and eventually wedded her. In the interests of providing for her, he found a job at the nearby tin mines, and generally settled down to a comfortable life with his new bride. After several months, in which Lachlan lived with an unwed young woman on the edge of town named Moira, Liam returned home one day much earlier than normal, due to a rainstorm flooding a portion of the mine. Liam entered quietly, thinking his wife would be sleeping, his pick over his shoulder. Upon opening the door to his bedroom, he was met with the site of a Moor and his beautiful wife in flagrante delicto. Liam stepped forward, and with one swing of his pick, pinned the lovers to the bed, where they would die. He then left the room, walked down to the cellar, and proceeded to consume most of a bottle of whisky. The next day, wracked with grief over his crime, he turned himself in to the police, and was sentenced to a life of hard labor. After Lachlan heard this, he set off with a vow to rescue his brother from his imprisonment. In his travels, he came across The Crimson Fields, and began to train with the warriors he found there, joining a group known as The Flying Circus, knowing that they would be valuable allies in the battles to come. After several weeks, he began to reach out to his former comrades and friends, and to adopt them, as was his right in his father's absence, into the Clan McClung. Late in 2010, Liam turned up at The Crimson Fields with wild stories about having escaped from prison using a wax candle, three lurid playing cards, and the head of a mop. Lachlan was over-joyed at his brother's return, and now they ply their trade as mercenaries, and as leaders of the Clan McClung, drawing together old friends and brothers-in-arms to help them in the battles to come. In March of 2012, due to some very unfortunate circumstances, left The Flying Circus, and is currently fighting unaffiliated.
