Hawaii is a island chain in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is made up of the islands of Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Lanai, Molokai, Niihau, and Kahoolawe.
Import costs on alcohol are high, but because liquor stores are not state run, you can almost always get booze cheaper than you can on most of the mainland, if you buy what is on sale* (Florida and Chicago as possible exceptions). Additionally Hard-A is sold in grocery stores. And because of the tourist industry, happy hours abound most days of the week, if you know where to look.
