[edit] What is a Vassal?
A Vassal is a Belegrim that has chosen to study a skill or area of service under the mentorship of a Guild Master, Mentor or Guild Journeyman. This is a optional trial period similar to becoming a page or retainer for those curious about becoming full-fledged Guild Apprentices or those wishing to study under a current Guild Journeyman.
[edit] Becoming an Vassal
Those wishing to become a Guild Vassal may approach any Guild Mentor/Master or Guild Journeyman and request to become their Vassal. Upon taking a Vassal, please contact your guild chairperson and inform them so that proper records may be kept. Journeymen must consult and acquire the approval of their mentor before taking on a Vassal. Masters, Mentors, or Journeymen may approach individuals about becoming a Vassal. Becoming a Vassal is not a guarantee that the Vassal will become an Apprentice under that mentor. Any member who has been taken as a Vassal may wear a Vassal Belt Flag in addition to their Guild Belt Flag.
Vassal Belt Flag:
- Required: symbol of the guild the person is vassaling to.
- Suggested: the colors of the mentor.
This belt flag may continue to be used and modified as the student progresses through the ranks if desired.
