Fiberglass usually refers to solid fiberglass rods, which are not poltruded or blended with carbon fiber (see kitespar). They can be round, rectangular, or square, and are commonly used in sizes ranging from 3/8" or 1/2" round rods (electric fenceposts) to 1/2"x3/4" rectangular bars (available from specialty suppliers). T

Thinner fiberglass rods can be bundled together to form a stiffer core, the origin of the term doublecore.

Fiberglass is now the most commonly used core material in Belegarth.
