Coming Of Age Ceremony

When young blue lizards come of age and wish to transition into the adult role of society, they must travel to the great city of Tlaxtalanl, sacred to Lazcota himself. There, they must put to work all they have learned since their spawning to create the best blade possible and present it before the community. The blade is then inspected by the elders and must pass several tests to prove its strength and quality before being deemed worthy.

These blades are sacred signs of a pledge to provide for lizard society and are kept in the main temple in Tlaxtalana until the next generation of blue lizards come to maturity.

Those new, young blue lizards then take the sacred blades and melt them down to create a whole new set of blades. The blue lizards are the heartbeat/backbone of society so the forging, melting down, and re-forging of the weapons represents constant new growth and innovation being built off of the foundation of the old. A never ending cycle of sacred death and rebirth. The old represent the strength, the heartbeat, the knowledge of their society- the elder blue lizards who have perfected their study trade. The young are the new, the vigor, and the innovative minds coming into society. The two work off of each other to create an even greater present/future for, not just the blue lizards, but for all lizard-kind.
