History

  • Fighting Since: April 2006

I got into fighting back in my Freshman year of High School. I was a pretty small guy, standing at 4' 11" and weighing a hair over a 100 lbs, and I was about as timid as a field mouse. Honestly, I don't know how I even got into Belegarth. I had a social circle the size of need point, zero skill with people, and was about as awkward as could be. However, that didn't stop this random guy in my art class from turning to me one day and saying "Hey, what are you doing Wednesday after school?". And that started it all.

The next couple of years were the most crucial in my fighting history, and in my life. The guys I fought with didn't accept timid, or weak, or apologetic, or awkward as excuses. They beat me down, built me up, and after I had pushed myself through it, they gave something I had never had before; confidence. There wasn't really a particular point when these changes occurred. I just woke up one day and realized that I wasn't that guy anymore. I was still me, but I was a different me; I was better.

After that reshaping process, I started to progress. My fighting hit the ceiling of skill that my realm could provide and, once I started to get out and experience Belegarth more, it kept going. I began to make friendships that never would have been possible before, and I began to do things that I never would have dreamed of. In a way, I can't even truly describe it. Belegarth has given to me something that I can never, ever repay, and in respect of that debt I have in turn done my best to pay her back. I give it everything that I have, and I push myself to always do more, do better, and fight harder; it is the least I can do.

Fighting Style

I've worked a lot on practicing with every weapon class that I can. From '06-'10 I was primarily sword and board, for the '11 season I fought almost exclusively Florentine, and for the '12 season I've dedicated myself to learning red sword fighting, and dabbling with spear fighting.
