Norsemen, Also Known As Vikings, Were Raiders In The Middle Ages From Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. They Were Known For Their Skill In Battle and Their Cruel Pagan Religon. The Final Goal Of A Norseman Was To Die In Battle and Achieve The Ability To Go To Vahalla (Heaven) And Spend Eternity Feasting With Odin, Their God Of War.

The Viking Age

This Time Period Was The Viking's Golden Age and When They Did Most Their Raiding. This Period Lasted From 790s To The 1066 A.D. The Norsemen Struck Fear Into All Their Victims and All Of Europe. They Traveled Around Europe Raiding and Destroying All They Pasted. Their Expansion Spread All The Way To North America!

Religon

The Old Norse Pagan Religon Was Full Of Stories Of Romance, Battles, and Courage. But Because Of The Viking Violent Lives, Gore Filled Stories and Battle Was A Big Part In Their Religon. It Was A Polytheistic With Such Gods As Odin, Thor, and Loki.

Armor

Our knowledge about arms and armor of the Viking age is based on relatively sparse archaeological finds and pictorial representation.

According to custom, all free Norsemen owned weapons, as well as carried them at all times. These arms were also indicative of a Viking's social status. A wealthy Viking would have a complete ensemble of a helmet, shield, chainmail shirt, and animal-skin coat, among various other armaments.

The spear and shield were the most basic armaments of the Viking warrior.
