Special Abilities:

These hounds have many supernatural skills that make them both powerful allies and fearsome enemies. They have incredible speed and strength, even for large predatory animals like themselves.

The fastest of hellhounds can outrun the quickest of creatures. The strongest can rip down trees with their claws. They can easily disguise themselves, and are able to conjure up cloaks of mist to aid in disappearance.

These hounds are also able to conjure flames. They scorch the ground where they walk, their body is an uncomfortably hot temperature, and their claw heat is similar to that of weapons being forged. They can conjure up pillars of fire to transport themselves from place to place though any lit fire. Hellhounds are called “The Bearers of Death,‘’ because they were created by ancient demons to serve as heralds of death.

According to legend, seeing one leads to a person's death. Sometimes it is said to be once; other times it requires three sightings for the curse to take effect and kill the victim. These factors make the hellhound a feared symbol and worthy of its nickname.

=== Subraces ===

There are two classes of hellhounds, the most common one seen however is the Hunter class. Guardians and Hunters, each having their own specifications to them.

Guardians:

Guardian hellhounds share a common trait amongst themselves. They are seen as loyal, dependable, and responsible. They are known to be the lesser of the two types. Still they obtain the normal abilities of any hellhound.

Guardians, as imagined, are reclusive. Loving to dwell further away from other monsters, and of course, humans. They prefer sticking close to home, such as the being or place they are protecting.

Guardian hellhounds are more sizable compared to the Hunters. Being more built and slightly more muscular to the Hunters (this is not a Bel/Dag/Amt requirement).

Guardians usually are the ones that protect or are more protective of their possessions that are be guarded. The possession can rangd from anything. A person to a place or a group that they will protect.

How to tell if the hound is a Guardian:

Guardians are commonly lighter on the color spectrum, hitting the lower shades of red. Black and gold are the colors that this type will use for its markings. This helps in aiding them in keeping themselves hidden and stick to the shadows.

Soul Hunters:

Soul Hunters have a stronger presence in the leadership category. They guide those who wish to follow, whether it be monster, man, or spirit. Not all hunters are leaders though.

This class of hellhound is known to be prone to aggressive natures. Challenging those who are willing to continue pursuing a fight with them. Though they don’t particularly like being around others and dwell in the shadows. If one is lucky enough to get close to one,the hellhound may be willing to pick a fight.

This class of hellhound seeks out those who are ill or dying, knowing that they will soon leave their body and become a shade, and they can obtain their next meal.

How to tell if the hound is a Hunter:

Hunters are known to be on the darker scale of reds. White and gold are commonly seen etched across the body of these hounds. Though it makes them more noticeable, they are still as reclusive as Guardians.

Elders:

Elders are the five oldest members of the race. After years of being a hellhound, elders can be achieved by showing both qualities of the two subraces. These hellhounds are allowed to wear both black, white, gold markings. Their black fur contains patches of white fur due to age.

  • Elders are able to paint up as a darker or lighter red
