About

The Gallifreyans, or ‘Time Lords,’ are travellers of both time and space. While their population is spread thin across every ‘when and where’ of the universe, a couple have stumbled upon the world of Belegarth. Being time travellers, ‘history’ gets … complicated… It is quite possible for two different Gallifreyans to find themself amongst the Belegrim of today having left very different situations on their home planet of Gallifrey. Oh, and Gallifreyans have the interesting ability to regenerate if they are mortally wounded, which is quite convenient. It has to do with their two hearts and some magic time juice from a thing called the “untempered schism.”

Appearances

Gallifreyans appear outwardly human. However, they can still be identified by certain aspects of their garb. Often, you will see the circular Gallifreyan script written on their gear/garb/skin. They also usually have a ‘signature item’ which is a piece of garb that is nearly always worn. This could be a bandana, scarf, bowtie, jacket, hat, or anything. Usually, Gallifreyans will end up adapting their wardrobe to the place they spend the greatest amount of time, so identifying them by appearances can be quite difficult. If you are trying to spot a Gallifreyan on the field, your best bet is to look for the circles.

Behaviours

There are a few things characteristic to all Gallifreyan you might find among the Belegrim. Firstly, they are travellers. If they travelled enough to end up here, they will continue to travel. Secondly, they are knowledgeable. Even if they aren’t the most talkative of individuals, Gallifreyan minds are expansive and if you get them on a roll on a passionate topic of theirs, you might catch a glimpse of how much they know. Unfortunately, the relevance and usefulness of this knowledge is often minimal. This leads to the third attribute, while not true for all Gallifreyans, many are prone to slipping into fast-talking/technobabble/jargon. Because of this they often throw in a 'dohicky' or 'thingamabob' every now and then when describing stuff. On a separate note, it is common for Gallifreyans to have titles or nicknames, keeping their true name hidden. The most famous Gallifreyan, The Doctor, does this. However, others, like Rasselon, do not. Lastly, the Gallifreyans of belegarth generally mingle with other races more than typical humans. While by no means a ‘monster’ by belegarth standards, they do get along with them. Perhaps this is because Gallifreyans have experience mingling with aliens through their travels. Perhaps it is because their regeneration energy makes them too spicy for regular consumption.

As a final note, Gallifreyans do have the ability to completely disguise themselves as human, hiding their true identity even from themselves. If you feel this could be describing you, you may reach out to the known Gallifreyans of Belegarth. It is important to learn your true identity… but perhaps even more important to learn the reason you are hiding!
